Driving and texting is one of the leading causes of crashes. Statistics show that a person texting while driving is the same as a person that has drunk 4 beers. According to a new AT&T poll, over 43% of teens text while driving. There are tons of apps promoted by the big carriers that prevent texting while driving. The issue is that most of those apps will cost you increase money on your bill. Luckily, Drive Agent is a free app on Google Play.

Drive Agent is the new app by the guys at Tagstand. Tagstand are the developers of the popular app NFC Task Launcher. Drive agent is a very simple app that incorporates Bluetooth and NFC. By launching the app through a NFC tag or a Bluetooth device, the driver’s phone sends automated messages to the caller or texters.

Features
Drive agent has two main features available to users. The first feature allows users to send an automated text message to phone callers or texters while the app is active. The user has the ability to set their own message. The only thing that is annoying us that each auto text has a link to the google store for purchase. A small price to pay in exchange for the app being free. The second feature allows the user to launch an app such as google maps or your favorite music player.

Support

The guys at Tagstand are quick to reply to comments and email. They have already released updates to issues that people are experiencing. We expect them to update the app on a frequent basis.

Price

The app is a free download in the google play market. The main monetization method appears to be selling of their multiple nfc products that can be used with the app

Users have wondered why the features from Drive Agent was not incorporated in NFC Task Launcher. Since NFC task launcher has a following among hard core android fans that understand NFC, the developers probably wanted to target a larger user base.
