In the old days, teenagers would either sneak and purchase porn magazines or go onto free porn tube sites and download their favorite porn star. In the new age of porn, teens want it fast and quick which gives rise to Gif Porn.
Gif Porn has become the most popular way for teens to consume porn. For people who are not familiar with Gifs, Gifs are animated images that loop for a short period of time. Teens are addicted to them because they are extremely private because of the length of the video which last usually no more than 6 seconds. It also makes it very difficult for parents to monitor. It is only displayed on a teen’s mobile device for a short period of time and the images are saved in the cloud. No images or videos on the device to capture.
The Twitter Iphone (iOS) app Vine is the poster child of Gif Porn. Vine,similar to twitter, allows users to send 6 second gifs. Teens have figured out by typing internet lingo such as NSFW or PAWG they have quick access to porn. It is such a huge problem that Vine now requires users to be 17 or above to use the app. They were hit with a Porn Scandal soon after Vine launched in January 2013. The even sadder issue is that Gif Porn has turned into a legitimate business. Sites have popped up that only show x rated GIFs. Teens are making GIFs of other teen for a cheap as 5 bucks for them to distribute over the internet.
As a parent, you may wonder why even bother. If it is only 6 seconds of viewing pleasure, then who cares. We should all care because Gif Porn is not just created by professional porn stars. Majority of Gif Porn are teenagers that are seeking validation from peers of the opposite sex.

Iexplorer 3- IExplorer three gives you access to your apps temporary files. Sync your child’s iphone or Ipad with Iexplorer and you will have access to all of the app’s temp files. Go into the temp files of an app such as Vine and you will see all of the Vines that were played. You will get a good idea if your teen is downloading Gif Porn.
